Jaylen Korporaal Secures Podium Finish in CIV MiniGP Italy Season Opener
Jaylen Korporaal competed in the opening round of the CIV MiniGP Italy series last weekend at Autodromo dell’Umbria in Magione, Italy. With a third and seventh place finish in the FIM MiniGP Italy Series Ohvale 190, the young Dutch rider can look back on a strong start to the season.
Qualifying and Superpole
Korporaal delivered an excellent performance in the first qualifying session, setting the third-fastest time. He improved further in the second session, securing P2. These results earned him a spot in Superpole, where the top 15 riders from Q1 and Q2 battled for grid positions. He set the fifth-fastest time, securing a spot on the second row for the races.
Race 1
Korporaal had a strong start, immediately moving up to fourth place. He battled in a competitive group fighting for the final podium spot. Despite being overtaken several times in slipstream battles, he positioned himself well for the final lap and secured third place just before the finish line.

Race 2
Korporaal once again had a solid start and was in contention for another podium finish. He was running third in the final lap when a crash by another rider brought out the red flag. The race result was determined based on the previous lap standings, placing him in seventh.

With a third and seventh-place finish, Korporaal ended the weekend fifth in the overall standings—just one point behind third place.
